Rockland County Jewish Home
for the Aged

Our History and Our Mission

The Esther Gitlow Towers and The Yvette and Louis Tekel Senior Residence are both located on the Harry and Jeannette Weinberg Campus in the beautiful suburb of Suffern, NY located in Rockland County. Both properties are sponsored by the Rockland County Jewish Home for the Aged, a non-profit organization that was founded in 1956 with the mission to help seniors with receiving services and to participate in programming that would be of interest and relevance to them.

In 1982 this mission expanded to help seniors in need to find quality housing that was safe, comfortable and affordable; which produced the building of Rockland Home for the Aged/Esther Gitlow Towers.

In 2008, their desire to expand based on the needs of the community allowed the board members of the Rockland County Jewish Home for the Aged to help sponsor the building of the Yvette and Louis Tekel Senior Residence/Esther Gitlow Towers II.
